The Underground is bringing you more DePaul reminders and events as
your spring quarter kicks off this April!

It’s coming up quickly…reminder: April 14th, this Sunday, is the last day to drop classes for the spring quarter.


Interested in Student Essay Contest? Have some time to write this weekend?
Consider submitting your work to the MLK, jr. Essay Contest. Submissions are due this Monday, April 15th. There is a $500 prize for the best undergraduate paper. Join your friends and classmates with at the Aloud! Student Reading this upcoming Tuesday, April 16th, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the Student Center. The event will be hosted by the University Center for Writing-based Learning.  Current graduate students Maria HlohowskyjDavid MathewsJillian Merrifield, and Raul Palma, alum Matthew Fledderjohann, and undergraduate students Elizabeth KerperRichard RodriguezAnnie Baldwin are appearing along with others. Be sure to check out this on-campus event!

The DePaul Activities Board invites you to Brownstone’s Cafe on Wednesday, April 17th, at 6:00pm for an event that showcases Award-Winning Spoken Word Poet, Andrea Gibson. Her work covers topics ranging from love, war, class, sexuality, and spirituality. Come and experience spoken words!


On Thursday, April 18th from 6:00-7:30pm, please join fellow undergraduates and faculty for the National Poetry Month Undergraduate Reading in Richardson 115 with readings by undergraduate writers. The event will open with a brief musical performance, and each poet will read for 5-7 minutes. Come support your classmates and friends!
