Learn about Careers in the Museum Field
Jobs at Art Museums (JAM) is a career awareness event at the Art Institute of Chicago. This year the event has been reimagined as a series of 12 presentations on Zoom over the course of winter and spring. Each talk will focus on a different theme, from Art & Science, to Community Programs, to “Handle with Care” (staff who actually touch objects), and more.
College and university students are invited to conversations with museum professionals representing a variety of departments and fields. Learn about upcoming internship and career opportunities and virtually socialize with peers and museum staff.

Summer Job Opportunity: AmeriCorps and Northwestern Settlement
AmeriCorps and Northwestern Settlement are searching for individuals for two of their summer positions. Descriptions below:
AmeriCorps Member Camp Counselor (Seasonal June 29-Aug 16; Living Stipend and Education Award) – This position is only available for current students as it includes an education award. The Junior AmeriCorps members will be in charge of working with the campers on devising/producing their production. They will supervise campers and lead daily activities, working closely with Teaching Artists to design and implement lesson plans.
Co-Lead Teaching Artist (seasonal, 30/hr (June 29-Aug.16) +$500 planning stipend before camp starts) – Co Lead Teaching Artists plan and implement all programming during the day for an ensemble of 30 students ages 9-14. Through drama activities, discussions and field trips, Trailblazer Campers will devise their own performance to present at the end of the 7 weeks. Teaching Artists guide this process along.

Area students and emerging job seekers, as well as college and university faculty and staff, are invited to a day of career-focused programming at the Art Institute of Chicago. Several DePaul students will be giving gallery talks.
The program will include:
• A museum careers panel
• Gallery talks led by college and university students
• Breakout sessions with museum staff
• A reception for all guests featuring intern alumni and museum staff

Call for Submissions: HerStry magazine
HerStry, an online literary magazine and writing community for women based in Milwaukee, is open for 2020 submissions!
HerStry accepts both personal essays (not paying) and monthly theme essays (paying). They welcome women identifying writers of all levels and talents to tell their stories. They accept all types of stories as long as they are true and about you. No topic is off limits!
Women of color and LGBTQ writers are especially encouraged to submit.
