We are seeking a college/post-college, full-time (or part-time) EDITORIAL INTERN. The position requires general editing skills and strongly prefers individuals with educational publishing experience.
The position will be responsible for actively assisting in book content and development from start to finish, including editing, working with freelancers and content expert reviewers, and approving proofs.
Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time (based upon availability)
Required responsibilities and skills:
-Edit documents (texts, workbooks, promotional materials, letters) for content errors, mechanical errors, and typographical errors, as well as consistent and appropriate language
-Provide strong and consistent editorial voice for each individual product and within product lines
-Assist with production process on print products as needed
-Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to compose well-written book sections, letters, documents, and creative copy
-Have familiarity with basic computer software such as Microsoft Outlook and above-average knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Education and experience:
-This position requires a degree (pursuit of a degree) in English, Editorial, or Writing
-Experience with Microsoft Office is required
-Background in educational publishing market is a plus
-Minimum ACT Score 25 or SAT Score 1740
-Minimum GPA 3.0
Paid Internship: Base salary commensurate with experience
