DePaul University’s English department is hosting visiting writer Kathleen Rooney on Monday April 21st at 6 pm in Richardson room 115. Come meet her and hear her speak about her experiences.
Rooney is the author of seven books of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. She is also a founding editor of Rose Metal Press and a founding member of Poems While You Wait. Fifth Star Press just released her novel O, Democracy! Rooney’s most recent chapbook with Elisa Gabbert is The Kind of Beauty that has Nowhere to Go. She has also published several essays and criticism in The New York Times Magazine, The Chicago Sun Times, The Believer, Coldfront and The Rumpus.
She is the recipient of several awards including the Ruth Lily Award from Poetry magazine and the Eric Hoffer Award. Come out and converse with a contemporary author and poet to get the inside scoop on life after college.
