Looking for something to do tonight?

DeniseChavez_FINALDRAFT-page-0Are you leaving class, heading over to the Student Center to grab a quick dinner, and wondering what else to do with the rest of your evening?

Well, since you’ll already be hanging out in the Student Center, how about heading over to Room No. 314 A & B from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a special reading by the critically acclaimed Chicana author and playwright, Denise Chavez?

Chavez — a native of Las Cruces, New Mexico — is the author of The Last of the Menu Girls, A Taco Testimony: Meditations on Family, Food and Cultureand Face of an Angel. Tonight, she will be reading from her brand new book, The King and Queen of Comezón.

Chavez will also talk a bit about the annual Border Book Festival, a non-profit community event she has run for the past 20 years.

Hope to see you there!
