Two Visiting Writers this Thursday, April 25th

memoirwritingbreakfastThe Department of English and the MAWP program are co-sponsoring the River of Fire Memoir Writing Breakfast taking place this Thursday, April 25th at 8:30am at the Lincoln Park Student Center, Room 380. Sister Helen Prejean along with DePaul professors, Ann Stanford and Michele Morano, will be discussing memoir writing and how literature can be utilized to bring about social change. The Department of English Visiting Writers Program is hosting a reading by Gregory Martin, author of Stories for Boys, this Thursday, April 25th at 6:00pm in Richardson Library 115. Martin’s memoir is described by author, Cheryl Strayedas “a magnetic meditation on what happens when a decades-long lie is brutally revealed. Moving, brave, and unforgettable, this deeply personal book pushes us all further into the light.” Stories for Boys has been named a NYT Notable Book and a Discover Great New Writers selection by Barnes & Noble.
